Notes by Geoff Dearn
After Rutlish I went to Kingston Polytechnic. I moved into a career in the government agency specialising in registering legal title to land which was called the Land Registry by I left its full time employment in June 2006. During the final years I worked as customer service manager and legal practice officer and ultimately in marketing land registry services. My interests include travel and photography. Since 2002 I have been studying Earth sciences with the Open University. Currently a candidate fellow of the Geological Society of London, I hope to work towards full fellowship on completion of BSc (Hons) Geosciences. Now living in Dorset.
Memories by Geoff Dearn
Although I was no great shakes at sports I did cycle a lot. Got up in the middle of the night on one occasion to see the sunrise from Leith Hill with Rick Felix and Nick White. It was quite cloudy and we didn't see the sun at all. It was Nick White who inspired me with a lifetime interest in geology. Now I'm retired I can spent more time learning about Earth system and climate change.
