Notes by Pete Everett
I retired in 2005 after 41 years in Local Govenment, mainly in the education service. For those who remember how poor I was at Maths you will be surprised to learn I ended up as the the Funding and Resources Director for City of Westminster's schools. I was there for sixteen years following some 25 years with ILEA prior to the closure of that august body.
I still live in Worcester Park, am now divorced but have two daughters in their early thirties and now two grand daughters, aged five and one.
I am still keen on football and am a trustee of AFC Wimbledon (NOT Milton Keynes!!!). Other hobbies include walking and allied to that, photography - I am in the final stages of completing a walk along the Thames Path and will tackle the North Downs Way next year. I am also a nationally recognised collector of 1950's and 60s Subbuteo Football teams. I also play occasionally with various bands - they put me on at the end of the evening to empty the hall.
I am a Christian and attend Christ Church in New Malden.
Memories by Pete Everett
Does anyone else remember the day of the "Flower Bed Grand National" when a mass rebellion against the "no running in the quad" orders saw about thirty of us vaulting the flower beds at breakneck speed as the sub-prefects lost control. Needless to say we all got whacked later!
Many other stories come to mind - several of them of Tank the Latin Master - lethal at many yards away with the blackboard duster but lets leave it at that for now!
