"I cannot remember the occasion or the circumstances but clearly I was there!. Wandle Rovers never got off the ground as such. We did play in a team called Merton Corinthians for a short while but this then became Concorde Athletic and later Walton Athletic (as in Walton on the Hill, Tadworth). We had three successful seasons in the Sutton and District Football League. 1963-66 including an Easter tour to France and Belgium in 1965. The prime movers were Terry Pond and Colin Petch - both one year ahead of us at school but who did a repeat year in 1962 when we reached the 5th year." - Pete Everett
