Grace in Latin
Every lunchtime, when we had to take lunch in the dining hall of the senior school, (I think the first year - called 2nd Form - was in the junior school glasshouse, ugh! So this would have been from third form through to whenever we left school) Grace was said in Latin by the duty prefect of the day.
During our time at school, we would have heard (and said) Grace
between 780
or 1170
or 1365 times
in our school life.

For those whose brain managed to shut it out:-

My best attempt at translation is:-
|
Benedic domine nobis
et his donis tuis
quae de largitate tua
sumus sumpturi.
Per Jesum Christum
Dominum Nostrum.
Amen.

Bless, O Lord,
both us and these Thy gifts,
which, of Thy bounty,
we are about to receive;
through Jesus Christ our Lord;
Amen
